This major cultivates advanced specialized talents who have a good grasp of the fundamental theories and methods of mathematics science, and are able to apply mathematical knowledge and computer to solve practical problems. The undergraduates can do works of research, teaching and management in the fields of technology, education, economy, finance, and insurance.

The students in this major mainly study the fundamental theories, knowledge and methods of mathematics and applied mathematics. With some basic trainings in mathematical modeling, computer, and mathematical software, the undergraduates can have the ability of doing research, teaching, solving practical problems, and developing software.
