This major cultivates advanced specialized talents who have a good grasp of the fundamental theories and methods of physics, and have strong abilities of doing experiment and applying electronic technology and new energy technology. The undergraduates can do works of research, teaching, and scientific and technological development in the fields of physics, new energy, and information processing technology.
The students in this major mainly study the fundamental theories and methods of physics, and are able to gain solid mathematics foundation and experimental skills. With some basic trainings in fundamental research, applied research, technology development, and engineering technology, the undergraduates can have good scientific quality and knowledge updating ability, and meet the needs of the development of high technology.
Core courses: higher mathematics, general physics (mechanics, optics, electromagnetics, thermology, atomic physics), electrodynamics, quantum mechanics, mathematical methods, linear electronic circuit, pulse digital circuit, technology and application of single chip, engineering fluid mechanics, heat transfer theory.
